We are Metro Atlanta’s first Fibershed.

Join us in creating a local & sustainable textile ecosystem in the South.

Our Mission

To connect small to medium fiber growers by helping increase access to education, funding, and create collaborative efforts to assist flock owners to build a stronger herd/crop. To support growers incorporating sustainable and regenerative practices on their farms, and to connect these growers to artists, retailers, and consumers thereby creating a closed loop ecosystem of sustainability for fiber producers in Georgia.

If you are a farmer or fiber producer we’d love to connect and see how we can support you. Please fill out our survey so that we can find out your needs and how Peach State Fiber can grow your crop.

2024 Goals & Objectives:

  • Identify Small-Med Growers for potential fiber pool by using outreach and online survey.

  • Apply for funding to purchase felt, pellet, and picker machines; and build a tumbler.

  • Coordinate sharing of resource materials with groups such as Fibershed, GA Sheep & Wool Growers, & Community Farmer’s Markets

  • Through survey and town halls, identify needs for Animal Husbandry Best Practices workshops and other necessary education components.

  • Work with the Georgia Tech Renewable Bioproduct Institute for development of wool bio products.
